Founded in 2003 by producer Viktória Petrányi and director Kornél Mundruczó, Proton Cinema was created to tell independent, thoughtful, and award-winning stories through film and theatre. For over 20 years, they have supported some of the most talented and intriguing voices in film, theatre, and television, helping them create productions that make audiences intensely feel, love, hate, hope, and cry.Over the past two decades, they have worked on a wide range of productions, from auteur cinema rooted in the finest European traditions to television series for both Hungarian and international audiences, collaborating with bold contemporary voices such as Ari Aster and contributing to Academy Award winning works, including The Brutalist.
